Week 1A: My Template
I have never created a blog before so all of this is new to me. But I have always loved the idea of creating a blog because I enjoy writing and you can reach people that are across the world. I wanted to talk about why I chose this template. There were so many templates but many of them looked too busy. I wanted a template that was simple but also had things that I enjoy like the color pink and a picture of the ocean.
I used the customize tab on the theme page to change the fonts on the template and I change the picture. I chose the Georgia font for the titles and headers which is bold and modern, and the Arial font for the content and posts which is easy for reading and compliments my simple template. I didn't want fonts that were overdramatic or flashy because that wouldn't work well with my template.
I also wanted the blog template to have parts that resonated with me. I picked the color pink as pop of color because it's one of my favorite colors and I think the color stands out well against the white background. I decided to put a picture of the ocean on because it's so calming and the ocean has always been a part of my life. The ocean puts me at ease and I think it represents me as a person.
I hope everyone enjoys the template I decided on and I can't wait to make more posts on this blog.

Hey Hailey
ReplyDeleteI am really digging the all white with the pink the little bits of color make it feel feminine but not overly girly. You and I have the same template I chose some different fonts for mine but what I liked about this one was like you said it doesn't feel crowded and it really just lets you write. The one thing that I didn't like about the template is that if you write too much it won't show it on screen it takes you to another screen and there you cannot enjoy the image placed in the background. I find this to be a drawback I hope i can figure out a way around it.
I am going to double-check my blog page and see if the fonts should be enlarged. I could not read the comments until I increased the zoom to 110% Readability aside, you are not alone in using color, rather than layout, to help decide your blog theme.
