Week 4 Post 2: Two Websites I Use

Target - target.com
Redbubble - redbubble.com

I think I go on the Target website too often but there must be a reason why I keep on coming back. First of all, the color red is everywhere on the website. It's on the logo, navigation bar, and sale advertisements. I'm surprised they haven't made the whole website red yet. I think why Target has an effective website because the website is easy to navigate and similar to their app. I don't think Target's website needs to be improved.
On the Target website, they use multiple principles of good design. They use typography, ease of use, proximity, alignment, concept and contrast, and repetition. The use these principles because it creates a very effective and put together website. They have their logo in the top left corner, an easy navigation bar, repetition of the bullseye logo, legible typography, and easy to use. I always return to Target's website because I know where I can find whatever I'm looking for and if I can't, I know I'll be able to.
I could spend hours on the Redbubble website, finding new products by new artists. I think Redbubble has an effective website because it is easy to navigate and products are evenly spaced out throughout the website. I also like that the website has a white background and everything else is really colorful. I don't think that Redbubble's website needs improvement.
On Redbubble's website, they use multiple principles of good design. They use proximity, alignment, ease of use, contrast and concept, and repetition. They have their logo in the top left corner, legible typography, navigation bar in center, most important information in the beginning, and social media links at the bottom. I always return to Redbubble's website because I enjoy exploring the website and I know where to find everything.
